It can dispense a length of tape around the neck of the bag, ranging from 2.5" to 3". To prevent tape waste and downtime, the P400 is equipped with a drum brake that prevents over-travel of the tape roll during use. The tension of the brake can be easily adjusted by tightening or loosening the nut on the tape drum shaft, ensuring smooth and efficient performance.
The Scotch P400 Bag Sealer is best used when securely mounted on a flat surface using the three-point mounting screws included with the product. Alternatively, it can be used with an alternate weight attachment base, which can be ordered separately. This allows for portability, making it convenient to use the P400 wherever it is needed, whether on-site or off-site. The P400 also features a unique dual bag size capacity, allowing it to seal bags with a neck diameter of either 1/4" or 3/8". By simply rotating the cavity wheel, the desired cavity diameter is exposed.
How it WorksInserting the twisted stem of the bag neck into the appropriate wheel cavity activates the sealing process. The pressure-sensitive tape is automatically drawn tightly around the neck, creating a permanent seal for the bag. The tape is pulled from the roll at a 90-degree angle, ensuring smooth and even removal and application around the bag. This results in a precisely applied strip of tape, providing end-users with a professionally secured film bag. To complete the process, a quick upward motion along the path cuts the tape and trims the excess bag material. If trimming is not required, the bag trimmer can be easily removed. The bag trimmer blade is designed with double edges, and when one side becomes less effective, a simple rotation of the blade to the unused side restores clean and quick trimming with minimal downtime.
