3M Printable Repulpable Single Coated Splicing Tape 9103 is a blue kraft paper with a blue, repulpable adhesive on an easy-release liner. It is primarily used for butt splicing coated paper and board at the re-reeler and winders.

The 3M Printable Repulpable Single Coated Splicing Tape 9103 is specifically designed for use on coated papers and boards. With its high initial adhesion and excellent heat resistance, this tape can withstand web temperatures up to 400F (204C), ensuring reliable splices and minimizing downtime. The kraft backing of the tape is untreated, allowing it to easily accept most inks and coatings.

  • Butt splices at the re-reeler prior to off-machine coating of fine papers
  • Butt splices at the winder
  • Butt splices on web offset printers

Prevents Broke Contamination from Non-Repulpable Material

The repulpable construction of the 3M Printable Repulpable Single Coated Splicing Tape 9103 eliminates the need to remove the splice from waste. This tape is water dispersible, ensuring that there is no risk of contaminating the paper mill broke with non-repulpable material. It meets or exceeds TAPPI UM-213, procedure A, which helps to save labor costs and increase the value of waste paper.

All components of the adhesive and backing of the tape meet the requirements of indirect food additive regulations as described under 21 CFR 176.170 and 21 CFR 176.180.
