The Scotch-Brite Light Deburring Disc is a very fine grade disc ideal for lightweight deburring and finishing on all types of metal. Moderately conformable, the dense web construction offers increased wear resistance and extended use for applications that require a less aggressive cut, such as cleaning and surface finishing.

  • Very fine grade durable disc is ideal for lightweight deburring, cleaning and finishing
  • Open-web construction resists loading and runs cool, producing consistent finishes
  • Non-woven sheet conditions surfaces without affecting the geometry of the workpiece
  • Load resistant open web construction and excellent durability provide extended use
  • Discs can be used individually or stacked on a straight shaft tool or bench motor for a broader cleaning edge
  • Excellent on bench motors and straight shaft tools

PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is the Scotch-Brite™ Light Deburring Disc used for?

The Scotch-Brite™ Light Deburring Disc is designed to remove small burrs and blend mismatched surfaces without damaging the base material.

  2. How big is each disc, and how many come in a case?

Each disc measures 4 inches by 1/2 inch, and there are 150 discs per case, so you can have plenty of them on hand for your projects.

  3. What does "very fine" grit mean?

A very fine grit indicates that this abrasive product offers a high level of precision. With its light cutting action, it removes surface imperfections while producing a smooth finish.

  4. Can these deburring discs be safely used on all materials?

Yes, they work well with all types of materials - including steel, aluminum, brass or plastic – as long as correct parameters are being applied during using process.

Conformable, Durable Blending and Burr Removal

Made with very fine grade aluminum oxide mineral, this high-strength open web disc combines conformability with durability and cut—so you can deburr quickly and are left with a great finish. When you need something conformable and in a finer grade than our Light Grinding and Blending Disc to lightly clean, scuff, deburr or finish, our Scotch-Brite™ Light Deburring Disc helps you achieve a smooth, deburred surface without the use of steel wool or wire brushes. In addition to deburring, this versatile disc may be used for surface prep or final finishing. Scotch-Brite conformability allows you to access hard-to-reach areas, and when the work surface requires broader coverage to reach intricate areas with the outer diameter of the disc, multiple discs can be stacked on a straight shaft tool or bench motor. This long-lasting, highly efficient disc is also load-resistant to stand up to prolonged use and can help lower your abrasive costs while increasing productivity.

Fast Cut and Long Life

Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals due to its cut-rate and long life. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives, such as garnet, quickly wear down with use. Its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention all combine to make aluminum oxide mineral a good choice in grinding applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

The Scotch-Brite™ Advantage

Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives are unique surface conditioning products with abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers. Combining abrasives with the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material runs cool and is load resistant, which keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers. Fibers in the web continually break down with use to reveal fresh mineral for exceptional consistency, superior cut performance, and extremely long service life. From aesthetic finishing to weld blending, deburring, and more, Scotch-Brite abrasives work fast and deliver consistent results, part after part.
